It is one of the most coveted stages in women’s golf—the 2015 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic. For four days, the world’s top female golfers compete for a purse of two million dollars at north California’s Lake Merced Golf Club. Among them: three teenage rookies chasing their dreams, all the way from Taiwan and all products of a unique golfing incubation program. For the tournament organizers, it is truly a labor of love. Challenges they will overcome include fighting drought conditions and retrofitting a near century-old course for a professional competition. ‘Inside: Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic’ tracks the passion and precision of the team behind the tournament as they train an army of volunteers; provide amenities for more than fifty thousand spectators, hundreds of VIPs, the 144 professional players and the technology required for a multi-million dollar live broadcast. Get behind the scenes to share the cheers, tears and stories of three of Taiwan’s most promising female golfers, and see how a simple dream has taken Taiwanese golf across the Pacific to fashion a unique tournament where art meets sport and where a love of golf triumphs.
